February is the month of love and we are taught to love our neighbor.  With that said, I would like to put a real emphasis on our pantry this month.  You might be amazed at how many different people come each week in dire need of food.  We have decided it is best for everyone involved if we start keeping more gift cards for groceries.  It is an easy thing for all of us to do, and it makes a huge difference in the community.

A $10.00 gift card at Bi-Lo, Ingles or Dollar General can help a lot.  Dollar General is a safe way to go.  They sell groceries and meats, but do not sell alcohol or cigarettes,  On another note of loving our neighbors…our church is helping out with a Blood Drive on February 20th during WWW.  Our participation has been dropping extremely low lately.  We only had seven donors during the last visit.  Please remember that all of the blood that is donated is credited back to our congregation, so this is a great way to help our friends and families if they are in need.  The bus will arrive before the meal is served and will stay late. If you are able, please donate….the life you save may be your own.
