Outreach - October 2007

Summer is slowly coming to an end, and we are starting to get used to the school time routines.  We have a few things coming up that should not get lost in the shuffle.

We are getting ready for our annual Clothes Drive.  We will be accepting clothes during worship on October 7th and 14th, and during WWW on October 10th and 17th.  Please keep us in mind as you go through your closets.  All of the clothes donated will be given to Goodwill in exchange for vouchers.  These vouchers will in turn be given to those in need in our communities.  With cold weather coming, there are a lot of families in our community that can use warm clothes.

October: Breast Cancer Awareness

October:  Breast Cancer Awareness

October 27th is a Breast Cancer Awareness luncheon for ALL WOMEN AND THEIR DAUGTHERS!  This luncheon will be held at Bushy Creek Baptist Church, Easley from 11:30- 1:00 pm.  Providence Presbyterian along with 9 other churches and Palmetto Health Baptist Easley will be sponsoring this educational and entertaining luncheon.  It is free to everyone. Please e-mail or call me at 630-5030 by October 12th for reservations.  No charge!   Donations may be made to the Susan Koman Foundation if you desire.  Let's have a good showing from the Providence folks since we have been touched so frequently with Breast Cancer. This is a great opportunity for you to help educate your daughter on breast cancer awareness and fellowship with others.

October 28th we will celebrate Pink Ribbon Sunday at Providence so plan on wearing something "pink".

Christian Education - October 2007
Hard to believe that October is upon us, especially with the summer-like weather outside!  We hope it cools off before the end of the month and our Fall Festival.  Look for more information to be posted around the church about this event.  The fall classes seem to have settled into place and our newest class, the Young Adults looks like it has made a good start.  Don't forget to book your dinner reservation for Wild Wonderful Wednesday - Come and join us for a delicious dinner, fellowship and Bible studies for all ages.

Something new that we are very excited about is our new format for Children's Church.  There are many thanks to Vicki Ford for undertaking this task to change to a more structured learning environment to prepare the children to come to "big church".  Also thanks to our youth helpers that assist each Sunday in this ministry.  Rumor has is that the kids think this is a whole lot more fun and they are learning lots!

As always see you in Sunday school!

PNC Report & Congregation Survey

View and print the Providence Congregation Survey here.

The Congregational Survey is an important component of Providence Church’s search for a new pastor. It has been designed to gather information from our membership to determine how we see ourselves as a congregation, what we perceive to be our mission – today and in the future – in the community and larger world, and gain insight into the type of pastor we want to lead us.

Would You?
If you knew you could save Providence Church $2,500 a year by giving $5.00 per week to the Debt Reduction Fund, would you do it?  Of course you would!

Let me explain.  Providence Church is supported by approximately 120 families.  If each family could find an extra five dollar bill each week to label as debt reduction, the savings in ‘non-refundable’ interest owed to the bank would amount to $2,500 per year.
