Stewardship – “What is that?”

Well ‘that’ is a pretty good question. I thought I would turn to one of the experts I know of to determine a good answer. Well me being the ‘logic-brained’ person I am, I turned to the Miriam-Webster on-line dictionary. Here is what I learned…

When I entered Stewardship I was given – obligations of a steward (not much help here). So I entered Steward, then I received – a fiscal agent (sort of starting to understand).

Next I entered Fiscal, it then said – relating to financial matters.

We are planning a luncheon at Ellenburg Hall on August 21st at 11:30 AM for all our seniors instead of going out someplace. We hope many will attend. We will need your reservations as we plan to cater this event.

We will be visiting with one another and getting better acquainted. We will sing some familiar songs... bring us your favorite! And maybe a game or two. Do you have a favorite joke you will share with us? Let's just relax and have a good time together.

Finance - What's Next?

We have come to a time in the life of our church when it is appropriate to ask, What Next. We are in a time of transition. A time when things seem to happen both very fast and very slow. We have had more congregational meetings in the last three months then we normally would have had in two years. We have a new class of Elders, a Pastor Nominating Committee, and a new group of Trustees. We have started a very serious effort (Dragon Slayer) to reduce our debt.
