Providence Presbyterian Church - Powdersville SC

Get ready for an unbelievable event at Providence’s Ellenburg Hall on Saturday, November 15^th at 7:00 pm.  Providence is hosting our second Coffeehouse.  Those of you who were able to join us last year will remember that a good time was had by all.  The theme is a mixture of mission and fellowship.

                First, we have a chance to expand our mission outside the US to coffee growers in many countries who don’t get fair prices for their coffee and end up in the spiral of debt that often happens to the common man in third world countries.  The Presbyterian Coffee Project, which is part of an organization called “Equal Exchange” allows farmers to get a fair trade price for their coffee and also allows for the villages in their countries to upgrade their standard of living by donations from Equal Exchange to community projects such as building schools, clean water systems, etc.  We will offer several different coffees, teas and chocolate for sale at very reasonable prices and have free samples for you to try.

                Secondly, we will have the good old Presbyterian dessert table along with non-coffee drinks if you do not drink coffee.  And…we will have a variety show that is guaranteed to make your lips part into smiles and bring large guffaws into the air.  All ages are encouraged to participate!  We just ask that you keep it suitable for church ears and take no longer than ten minutes per person (or we get out the big vaudeville hook).  Some ideas of what has been done in the past:  singing, dancing, storytelling to kids, kung-fu demonstrations, comedy acts, musical instrument playing, etc.  We will provide a karaoke machine for those of you that cannot persuade your favorite musical accompanist to help out, bring your own karaoke CD.

                We are guaranteed to have a great time.  We need help setting up the area and taking stuff down.  We need acts!!  (Start practicing!)  We need desserts to feed the
