Hello, neighbors! Here at Providence Presbyterian Church, we believe that being a good neighbor extends far beyond Powdersville. We see the world as one big community, and sometimes, the best way to lend a hand is through a simple, yet powerful, gift.
Chickens for Jesus…
The catchy ditty was coined after our own Robin Bell and Debbie Clapp, both charter members of Providence Presbyterian Church in Foothills Presbytery, wondered what more their small membership congregation in Powdersville, South Carolina, could do for the sake of the gospel proving that not only that we care but, we also have asense of humor!
That’s the heart behind Chickens for Jesus—it’s truly a neighborly effort to share some simple, sustainable blessings with families in developing nations.
Think of this as helping a friend get a fantastic start. We take donations from our community and use them to give families in third-world countries their own small flock of chickens.
It’s a simple idea, but the benefits for these families are huge and lasting:
- Breakfast & Dinner Security: Those eggs are a daily, reliable source of protein—a huge boost for kids’ health and growth.
- Building Up: The chickens multiply! This gift keeps on giving, securing a long-term, sustainable food source for the family.
- Feathers for Comfort: Even the feathers are useful, offering materials for crafts or simple items to make life a little more comfortable.

We invite everyone in our community to pitch in! A small contribution from us can make a life-changing difference for a family overseas. It’s a wonderful, practical way to live out the Golden Rule.
